Keywords and Phrases
Here a a list (alphabetically) on keywords and phrases within our industry. It's sometimes a little tricky if we are talking about number of fractions, bed depth, ATEX, linear... the list goes on.

ATEX
A special rating when product material is combustible and defined by the customer in rating zones and distances.
Base
Machine base sitting on ground
Bed depth
A term used to define the product material thickness as it moves through a machine like a linear feeder.
Bellows
Special air bellows used on out Vibrecon range with superb vibration suppression.
Classifier
A machine that can have multiple decks to classify material by particle sizes.
Circular
A circular machine opposed to a linear machine shape design.
Deck
A screen will fit into a deck, where the deck has a rim and spout.
Discharge
Once screened or transferred product material will flow through an exist discharge spout.
H - N
Hookscreen
A type of screen design used in Gough linear screens for securing into machine.
Hire
We offer machine for hire.
In-Feed
Term used to describe your product material feeding into a machine for the first time.
Jacobs fittings
A particular type of JACOBS fittings used to connect pipework or chutes.
Linear
linear meaning a screen or machine design shape defined by a width and length - as opposed to circular.
O - Z
Out-of-balance
A motor with internal weights, set to different positions to create vibration.
Sieve
A small single motored machine, with one screen vibrating to produce oversize and fine material separation.
Screen
Larger single screen areas than sieves, with two out-of-balance motors for more aggressive vibration.
Sealed motor
Motors are sealed unit with end caps.
Separator
Another term used for separating material into 2 or 3 or 4 fractions.
Spout
Term used, normally round, in which product material flows through. It can be positioned at the exits of the machine.
Swinglink®
A Gough patented name for a type of pendulum bucket elevator.
Support Frame
A fabricated steel support frame used on linear screens, conveyors, linear vibratory feeders etc. can be mobile.
Vibration
A motion generated from an out-of-balance motor or electromagnetic drives. Vibration can also applied in the vertical horizontal planes dependant on machine.
Vibraflo®
A patented single vibrating screen using twin out-of-balance motors.
Vibrecon®
A patented circular vibrating machine for single or multiple decks with air bellows.
