What Was The Task?

A chemicals company in Scotland required a screening system that could separate high grade potassium chloride products for pharmaceuticals.

Originally focusing on food manufacturing, the company had recently expanded their growth into the pharmaceutical sector. As long term customers of Gough Engineering, we were approached by the company who wanted mobile sieving units for their new business venture.

What Was The Decided Solution?

Gough were asked to design an adaptable, low-line sieving unit to fit within their current process. They also required a faculty that could easily be moved around the premises using a roller trick. However, the design parameter needed to meet the set standards of the pharmaceutical sector with easy clean-down of all components. This was not a problem for Gough Engineering, as we have supplied a number of sieving systems to the company in the past which have met their specified requirements.

The Final Results

Gough supplied a stainless steel grade 316 bespoke sieving unit with two decks; the lower deck consisted of a ball tray that was fitted to the underside of the screen’s mesh so as to eliminate mesh blinding. It would also help to prevent static. Roller truck location points were also built into the base of the screening unit for ease of movement in and out of the production area.
