Vibratory Feeder Working Principle

A vibratory feeder is a device used to move product from one area of the production line to another or from one process to the next using vibration. Product movement is created by cleverly orientating the drives so that the vibration causes the product to hop along the feeder tray many times a second.

Vibrating feeders are used as they give an even flow of product which is required for many processes such as separating and packaging operations.

The importance of particle size distribution (PSD)

Particle size distribution (PSD) refers to a list of values used to illustrate the relative amount of particles sizes in a sample of a particulate product. Once the required particle size is finalised for a specific particulate product, trials are carried out to determine the appropriate equipment to achieve the desired results at production scale. This equipment is then used to achieve a consistent particle size, and, as a result, the finished product will exhibit the required characteristics and properties.
